Peak Health and Fitness has been shortlisted in the National Fitness Awards, the UK’s biggest fitness awards and are in the running for a prestigious national award.
The club has been shortlisted in the Best Boutique Facility Category and Best Gym in the South of England Category in the awards which are this year celebrating their tenth birthday. Best Boutique Facility focuses on those gyms that are leading the way in their field and offer a 5-star customer service to their members. The award for Best Gym in the South is awarded to the gym that stands out from others in their area and offers a great community facility.
The annual event recognises excellence and achievement in gyms throughout the country with shortlisted facilities being as far north as Elgin and as far south as Devon.
The awards are organised by Script Events in conjunction with leading fitness industry magazine Workout, with support from headline sponsor ServiceSport, and in each category up to seven finalists have been selected, who will now go through to the next stage of the judging process where they will be out to impress by showcasing first hand the great work going on in their clubs.
This stage involves a visit to each finalist by a member of the awards team who will take a look around the facilities and chat to members and staff before compiling a comprehensive report, which will then be passed on to an expert judging panel to decide the lucky winners.
Trophies will then be handed out a glittering awards ceremony on Friday November 29 at The Athena in Leicester.
National Fitness Awards’ event director Judith Halkerston said: “The National Fitness Awards are celebrating their tenth birthday this year and with more entries than ever before, our finalists really have reason to celebrate too as it’s a huge achievement to have made the shortlist and is testament to the teams behind each.”
Owner of Peak Health and Fitness John Phillips said: “It is an honour to be shortlisted and recognised for our community contributions as well as our innovative approach to health and fitness. When we set up our gym three years ago, we wanted to offer state of the art facilities, a different approach to fitness, as well as a welcoming environment where our members feel like they are part of a family. We hope that we have achieved this and being the only gym in Devon shortlisted for these awards is a massive achievement. We continue to make health and fitness accessible for as many people as possible in our local area, as well as creating employment opportunities in our town. We work hard to show others how a gym should be and pride ourselves on being more than just a gym. We have come so far in just three years and recognise that this was possible only with the help of our fantastic team and our loyal members”.
Since we opened our doors to the town of Tavistock three years ago we have supported local charities and organisations as well as training and assisting local athletes and those wanting to get fit to raise money for good causes. Peak also support local teams with their health and fitness training. We even offer local business free passes for their employees as part of their Monday Motivation initiative. Peak have a range of fitness equipment from free weights, cardio machines and functional fitness methods. We also offer personal training, massage and rehab therapy and free health checks for all their members.
